Suspension of A4 roadworks and no lifting of restrictions in Grove Park

Does anyone know when it was announced that the planned A4 roadworks for this weekend were being suspended ?I am sure that I read on here as recently as a couple of days back that the roadworks were going ahead and so the Grove Park restrictions would be lifted. I therefore advised a friend that they would be able to turn left today into Grove Park after crossing Chiswick Bridge, but it now seems that they will get a PCN - which seems somewhat unfair.ThanksSimon

The council are trying to be helpful in lifting restrictions when there are other road closures. However, I'm not sure that such flip-flopping is enforceable. The adjudicator may take a dim view and cancel any ticket issued on a day where it had previously been announced that restrictions were being lifted.The communication of these roadworks and changes in restrictions is awful. Hounslow now seems to be indicating that there will be no lifting of restrictions next weekend but TfL are saying that there will be resurfacing work near Sutton Court Road which probably will mean the restrictions can't apply next Saturday.The article on the front page tries to unpick this but the situation remains confusing. Lack of clear messaging from the authorities on major roadworks causes significant unnecessary traffic, congestion and pollution and somebody needs to get a grip.

The latest update is that there will be no all day closures of the A4 eastbound this weekend but there will be overnight closures of the A4 westbound between Sutton Court Road and Hogarth Roundabout during the week.

Presumably if the restriction signs are covered up, you can drive through, and if they're visible, you can't.
