iPhone 7 battery replacement?

Is it worth it?The battery is on its last legs.  I see that there are non-Apple replacement kits for around £20.  I’ve heard that getting Apple to replace it would be costly.  Or should I just replace the phone with a new contract?I should add that I don’t make heavy demands on my phone.  I use it for calls and photos and little else.  But I’m a heavy iPad user and I value the ease of syncing photos between this and the phone.If I opt to upgrade my phone contract would it be better to go for a cheap monthly option like an iPhone 11 or would it be more economical long-term to get something more up to date?As a techno-simpleton I would be grateful for any advice.

I'm no expert either, but if you do go down the replacement battery route , I've found iSmash in Power Rd Chiswick to be a decent iphone repair company.They are quoting £35 to replace an iphone 7 battery....but quote Discount code: NYBAT on pick up and this will give you: "SAVE £25 on any repair or SAVE £15 on any battery replacement"

iSmash are generally well-regarded for all sorts of iPhone and iPad repairs including replacement batteries. An iPhone 7 should be good for a while yet with a new battery. - I had them replace the battery on my iPhone 8 for a very reasonable price. There's a "no frills" branch of iSmash in Chiswick though I had mine changed on a while you wait basis at their branch in Westfield.https://www.ismash.com/.

I would also recommend iSmash for apple replacements products outside any warranty and not within warrantyRemember that kiosks for battery or screen replacements are  cheap Chinese alternatives that come with varied issues and you will lose any warranty if you had any and will be around the same cost as iSmash but not a genuine apple part. iSmash do use genuine apple products

Timpsons replace phone batteries. I read if you have a screen replaced they automatically replace the battery free. Just another possibility.
