Chiswick Cinema

Can someone please tell me if Chiswick Cinema has speakers on all four walls?

Richard, I have seen several films at our (still) new cinema, and can assure you both the visual and audio facilities are brilliant, and compare easily with all the most modern cinemas.Regarding the sound quality, it came from all four quarters and more.It is worthwhile my saying the layout throughout the cinema is sympathetic to those with mobility problems, including a lift to the upstairs screens, restaurant and seated balcony area. Toilets were evident for the disabled of course

A home system is usually 5:1 and comprises a Left hand speaker, Right hand speaker, a centre speaker for voice, a left rear speaker and a right rear speaker, plus a subwoofer. Cinemas follow this rule by and large although it is more normal to hve a 7:1 set up (extra pair of speakers in the middle for Atmos). In order to comply with Dolby specifications cinemas operate on channel numbers as opposed to number of speakers so it is possible to have 50 or 100 speakers around the room. Chiswick Cinema is very good but in my opinion the best sound in London is at The Olympic Cinema in Barnes.
