London dominates the complaints list top ten and that is probably down to the housing shortage with parking issues also a factor. I don't think it is inconceivable therefore that a council receiving a high level of complaints could also be ranked the best in the country.

And especially when a climate change emergency has been declared and we need to work towards the changes needed to lower our emissions caused by fossil fuels which includes our over dependency on personal cars.

Changes are happening and being made all over the world including those countries you mention.  There will be very few people who in reality can't make any adjustments.

Indeed they are, China has reined back it's deployment of coal-fired power stations and will only be commissioning 330 during 2023. Marine traffic is a greater polluter than private cars, perhaps you might consider glueing yourself to a bulk carrier.

What do we ship and why do we ship it?  You should be listening to RETHiINK  on Radio 4 right now.  Brilliant programmes with Amol Rajan.China has built more offshore wind than the rest of the world during the last five years.  They are ahead of us in renewables...  We need markets that suit us.Catch up and Keep up!

It’s the inference you made. China is the biggest contributor of emissions in the planet. Much of its energy is used to produce the goods we all want here in the West. As I’ve said to you before, if you want reduced emissions you have to stop wanting new things. That includes tech, iPhones and tat to decorate the home at Christmas. Don’t see much will furctuat in Chiswick or elsewhere.

No good arguing with people here Nigel. Some think wind turbines are made from lollipop sticks glued together by pixies, rather than the enormously energy consuming coke fired furnaces required to make carbon fibre.Perhaps they ought to spend more time reading properly informed articles rather than seeking out ones that reinforce the cognitive bias.

I’m pointing out the obvious flaws in certain arguments here. Perhaps you ought to look up the production process of carbon fibre.No, I haven’t been drinking.
