In the foggy world of recycling... the idea of plastic free adhesive tapes amounts to progress.When we put out for recycling either paper, card or cardboard which has plastic adhesive tape still stuck to it...it can be considered to be contaminatedand thus of a lesser quality.I personally always remove such tape and metal staples.So, let's get down.to Robert Dyas!

We've been reusing string and ribbons for years.  If you don't write on the paper and use a tag instead - which is easy to make from old Christmas cards or snippets of wrapping paper especially with good repeating patterns on stuck onto cereal packet card.  It's a good way of keeping kids occupied.I use sellotape most nowadays for sticking down the film lids on plastic packets and bags of food - the contents of which we have only eaten part.Japanese furoshiki cloths are a great way to wrap presents with reusable wrappings.

Absolutely desperate for some sticky tape today?  Have you noticed that some plastic milk bottles have sticky labels that just peel off?  You can use that under two edges of paper you want to stick together.(Just listening to Marcus Brigstocke & Rachel Parris on Jazz fm with Christmas anecdotes "Mum the sellotape has run out."It doesn't have to be a disaster!  Finding an alternative solution without having to rush out to the shops last minute can be very satisfying (and sometimes amusing) especially when it is reuse of something you don't want.  Initiative is and thinking out of the box is something we should cherish!
