Internet fraud.

A SERIOUS QUESTION. In 2019 Money Man Martin Lewis won a £3 million pounds settlement from Facebook for using his face and profile to defraud vulnerable people out billions of pounds. Yet every day dozens of these fake ads are still accepted by Facebook to rob the unwary. In 2021 alone  £11 billion pounds have been defrauded from people. WHY ARE THE POLICE OR OTHER AUTHORITIES UNABLE TO STOP IT. Has Martin Lewis accepted £3 million pounds from Facebook on condition that he doesn't sue them again?                                                                                                                                   FAKE HEADING.                                                                          "Thousands Flock to ATMs After Martin's Exclusive Interview."

He didn't win anything in a settlement.  The case never went as far as the courts.  He and facebook agreed that facebook should donate £3m to a special fraud charity,  Citizens Advise project and that they should pay his legal team the charges so far incurred  and also something about an online button in FB in order to quickly report a suspect dodgy advert.  That's it

You've got everything mixed up, even your words.  They were not fake ads.  They were just ads , suggesting a product or a service.  The fact is the ads claimed to have Martin Lewis's  endorsement and consent.  They didn't.  Obviously after a while of this ML got fed up asking FB to police the adverts they allow and or take those down to which he had no connection ie All. They didn't do that, they dragged their feet  and the situation went on. Hence the  actual lawsuit stance by the ML team.  Not threat of legal action. An actual High court proceedings document was issued vs facebook and obviously it had the desired affect and that's why the agreement came about. What exactly are you asking the police to do. Sit and watch FB all day and if an advert comes up with any endorsement,  quickly try to contact that person and see if they have given their agreement .  What ?

Facebook is just one outlet for fraud the real challenge is the amount of fraud happening via the internet it is huge there is spam, phishing, spyware, identify theft, internet banking and the list goes on, billions is stolen thanks to the internet. No one owns the internet so it is impossible to police, there are no borders, no police, no regulation, we all have to be super careful and sensible. It is a modern monster….equally so long as you think twice when doing any transaction the positive of the internet it is an awesome tool merry Christmas be careful
