With all the money they've made from fines, you'd think they could afford a couple of bags of grit to throw on the pavement. Its like a skating ring near the bridge.

Where is this new bridge on Hartington Road?
Richard Jennings ● 1377d
Chiswick bridge end of Hartington Road was like an ice rink, even before the snow. Although outside Cavendish school was very bad and Hounslow workforce were clearing other road in the area, you would of thought outside the school would be a priority.

Like Richard, I wouldn't have realised you were talking about the southern end of Hartington Road - at least I presume that's the bit that was icy.

Certainly Grove Park Bridge (the one over the railway line) is interesting to negotiate on foot at the moment. Not only is there the slope from the brow downwards to contend with but there's also a distinct camber towards the road surface. I've decided the road is the safest place to walk - which isn't saying much. There was an item on BBC London last night about this problem - Chiswick is far from being alone in offering unwanted skating rinks to pedestrians.
