A Tale of Two Laptops

I bought anew laptop with a larger screen to suit my present eyesight. I can view the W4 messages, but when I try to contribute, I'm told I must register. On following the instructions, it tells me I'm already registered, which is true - that's how I can write this! Can anyone suggest a way of getting round this dilemma, please? Also, the new Acer laptop is pressing me to install 'Bing', which I believe is a search engine, but it looks rather down-market to me, judging by the the contents I've looked at. Any comments?

I am no great shakes at computers myself and I bought a laptop several years ago that had Bing on it which a mate of mine removed.I noe have a chromebook which is better for me as I don't need a laptop for work or anything like that.It comes with built in chrome security so no need to buy a security package.Chromebooks are considerably cheaper too, mine was less than £150.Good luck.

Maybe the cookie which logs the fact you are logged in is timing out.  Look down bottom left of the screen for your status.  I have not logged in for ages because it just remembers to keep logged in.  Try to login at the link at the bottom , rather than as a redirect on the post a msg journey. That way it's simple.  Maybe logging in as part of the post a msg journey doesn't set the cookie correctly .

Arnold - if you are able to see where it looks like you are being asked to register, underneath that it says "sign in". So that might be the answer for you. Or if you can see the bottom of the screen it says "log on" which is where you put your email address in. that might do it for you.  Yes - Bing is pretty rubbish but is owned by Microsoft so that push it like mad!
