Hartington Road penalty

I moved out of Chiswick a few years ago but returning to visit, and in an attempt to get to the groomers in Burlington Lane, I drove down Hartington Road. (I'm aware one can no longer turn into Staveley Road from the A316).I didn't notice any signs telling me this was also prohibited but I've just received a Penalty Charge Notice for contravention 52JM (which seems to relate to prohibiting motor vehicles).Please would someone who lives around there let me know if (i) there are signs prohibiting cars driving down Hartington Road and (ii) if so, how on earth does someone coming from Hammersmith get to the area by Chiswick BR Station?!

Sorry but Hartington Road has the same restrictions as Staveley Road if you don't have a resident permit...the restrictions are in place Mon-Sat 8am to 7pm and are sign posted when traveling in either directions on the A-316 ahead of making any turn and then again on the roads themselves at the point where the restriction starts, including a camera sign. The signs on the A-316 are lengthy to be able to read while driving but are there. If you want to enter Grove Park and access the groomers, you need to enter via the A4 using Park Road, or Sutton Court Road and it's best to exit the same way to avoid any issues (but you can safely exit via Burlington Lane onto the A-316 if you're feeling brave, but not via Staveley Road to the A-316). Sorry not better news.

Thanks Tamara. How utterly ridiculous. As you suggested, of course I didn't read a long sign while driving. Simple solution: won't be visiting that groomers again sadly. I'm sure local businesses must be thrilled with this nonsense. I'm just glad I moved before these restrictions came in.

You are 100% correct. Chiswick is to be avoided if you don’t want to receive  fines.  Hounslow Council is destroying the business community.
