Prominent black and Asian Britons warn against BBC local radio cuts plan

Vanessa Feltz has gone (along with her big pay packet), Robert Elms has clung onto Friday, Saturday and Sunday mornings and Jo Good is now late at night. The BBC love telling us that it's OUR BBC but in practice it's the BBC who decide how they want it presented. You've got to be really good to cheese of both left and right-thinking viewers/listeners and alienate ethnic listeners too.

I mean, when they killed off poor Doris Archer without asking any of us, I refused to listen to The Archers ever after. (OK, I didn't listen to it before, but still, there's a principle at stake.) Anyway, we simply cannot have change. Ever.P.S. That one?"RC: May I assume you are refrring to the notorious Jason Lee sketch on Fantasy Football League?And if so, that you didn't see the recent Channel 4 documentary on 'Jews Dont Count', where he met Lee and apologised, acknowledging to his own evidently sincere regret that the sketch was indeed racially offensive, but he has learnt from it?While Lee graciously accepted the apology? Or do you content yourself with "playing the man", rather than the "ball"?

In the past I’ve not been a particular fan of David Baddiel but I thought that this documentary, Jews Don’t Count, was eye-opening and brave.  It deserves to be seen.
