Bikes for charity

If you have a bike you're no longer using, you might wish to consider giving it to The Bike Project https://thebikeproject.co.uk/I've just taken an unwanted bike to the drop off point at the HQ of Bolt in Power Road. The process was simple and the Bolt manager and reception staff were very friendly. The donated bikes are refurbished and given to refugees and asylum seekers.Because of building works the entrance is not as stated on the website - it is down the side of the Volvo showroom. The manager said they've been a collection point for only 3 weeks and have already had 15 bikes. They would welcome more - it seems like a good idea to me!

Well I think this is a great idea if you have a bike that you no longer want.Some training goes with it which is something that a lot of other cyclists could probably do with!Also some maintenance training - which a lot of other cyclists could also no doubt do with and which you can often find through the cycle training on the Council websites. I also recently read that Let's Go Southall are looking for bike mechanics so this could also lead to a job.As they say getting a bike can save having to make the choice between  a bus fare and a meal.
