Matt Hancock to lose Tory Whip

I'm no particular fan of Mr. Hancock, but talk about a  bunch of hypocrites, so he's going on 'I'm a Celebrity' so what? Nasty Nadine did it and nothing was done, and only recently there was the spectacle of Johnson off on an after dinner earner followed by a Caribbean jaunt. Even in their own party it seems this lot have 'one rule for one and a different one for someone else'. As a rule MPs really should put their constituents first - but that should apply to every single one of them.

Vanessa, I am no fan of any member of this current shower in office,nor of many on the opposing benches come to that, but Nadine Dorries did have the whip removed when she appeared in a similar low rent crap TV show.

On the other side, an investigation over whip bullying in the lobby by Sir Lindsay Hoyle found it did not happen after Chris Bryant alleged bullying happened.Chris Bryant who is the Chair of the Committees on Standards and Privileges was on the other hand found guilty of breaking rules by tweeting pictures of the alleged incident. 😁

Hancock's only really in it for 'his half-hour celebrity' as he's not part of the group until later into show as a well-known political hack showing-up and making an expected doleful appearance somewhat into the show's progression. Hopefully, on Hancock appearing, Boy George 'scratches Hancock's eyes out' with expletive vehemence at Hancock's woeful governmental Covid overseeing. Hancock could be laying himself open to all sorts of ridicule on the show, not just of eating bugs and testicular stuff, but also being shunned, as he should, by fellow celebrity kangaroo testicle eaters.

Only under this as the other two reasons dont apply in this case "Suspension from the House following report and recommended sanction from the Committee on Standards for a specified period (at least 10 sitting days, or at least 14 days if sitting days are not specified);"

Julian is right unfortunately. A suspension from the House from the period he is in the jungle would be a fitting punishment and could trigger a recall but, unfortunately, the Standards Committee didn't take that action against Dorries so a precedent has been set. Such an action would also raise the issue of why Johnson is flying off to do speaking engagements while the House is sitting. However, his position already looks very shaky because the parliamentary investigation into his lying is likely to show that the liar lied and knew he was lying when he lied and therefore he will get a suspension which will allow the good people of Uxbridge to have their say on his behaviour.
