Indian Take Away Recommendations

Friday night is curry night.I was wondering which take away / delivery places the forum contributors like.I want a fairly old school Indian with lamb bhuna, prawn korma and chicken madras type dishes available.Prefer to ring and have them deliver using their own vehicles rather than a deliveroo / uber eats / just eat set up.Prefer to pay a bit more for decent quality.Any ideas?

Bayleaves Tandoori is excellent.  It's in Isleworth but delivers to Chiswick.  Tel: 020 8560 5494(As well as delicious food also has 5 star hygiene rating, which is always reassuring.)

You still can. Try Potli, it's excellent but too authentic I think for what's requested above.

Thanks everyone. We went with Peppers 🌶 which we hadn't tried before cos we live at the east most part of W4 and normally use the places in Askew Rd or Hammersmith. Peppers certainly ticked all my boxes and made a super Friday treat. Very tasty and delivered very hot 🔥 and on time.Will use them again.

I think Annapurna also fits the bill for what you were asking, never been to Peppers so not sure how it compares though. Back in the day the Geetenjali was peerless for this sort of Bangladeshi type.

If we are taking this discussion away from the traditional British curry house style described by the OP then I am going to put it out there that Black Salt in East Sheen is right up there. Owned by the fabled Dastaan of Ewell. Especially good for a visit but does deliver to Chiswick. Tandoor skills are top notch.

Rae recommended Bayleaves Tandoori  at Syon Lane on the Brentford /Isleworth border... I believe they are the hot team that moved from Chiswick.... Geenenjalis !Glad to hear that Will's enquiry was sorted.

I’d highly recommend Tiffin Box on Chiswick High Road. They reopened a few months ago post pandemic and do takeout only. Very authentic Indian food.

Try the Jubraj in Acton - it's the best old style Indian restaurant in West London.
