It looks like the rumours are based on the fact that Number 10 is 'refusing to comment' on whether the Chancellor keeps his job. Could be one down and one to go by tea time.

If no one is willing to step into Kwateng's job then surely she would have to resign.  And who would want to take the job?  On the other hand, if someone competent stepped in, where does that leave Truss? Looking like the one doing the following, rather than being in charge.

How could it possibly be acceptable that the Tory party could foist another unelected P.M. on the country? If they do go after Truss then the only fair and proper thing to do is let the people decided via a General Election, but I suspect self preservation will be the order of the day, and sod us.

The tories are dead scored a massive own goal which will go down In history but given Putin is lining up nuclear weapons right now we need stability not another period of zero government and politicians playing their own game hand over to Rishi, taxes will be high but he will stabilise the economy then the world needs to sort Putin look out before within right now there are far more important issues to deal with on the world stage.

Totally agree the tories are dead, whomever quoted for her over Rishi needs their head testing, Truzz is a walking disaster I actually feel sad for her, I am sure she is a decent human being who believes passionately about growth and lower taxes but she is no leader. The press conference was embarrassing  and that’s being polite, she absolutely need to go but right now I don’t support more zero government we have just been through that summer recess and campaigning. If Putin is not stopped there will be far bigger consequences in Europe we need to stabilise the island then Labour will get in & pray they have some UK wide all encompassing plans. Surreal times
