My kitchen is 5.5m by 3m by 2.5m height, it has no heating sourceI wanted instant heat most of time so chose a convector, I didn't want noise so no fan, and I didn't want to rearrange room to sit in front of the heater. I wanted a low power most of time with higher options so I got a 750w which has a secondary circuit at 1250w or both can be on making 2000wIn winter , the room is normally 11 degrees unheated. For long term taking the chill off room , I attached a radial timer,set tags to 30m on 30m off for the whole 24hr period. I put the setting on 750w ( so only consuming 375w in any hour) and let it run , once the first 2 full on sections have run, the room reached 15.5 degrees max and on the off part it drops slowly to 13.5 but 15 achieved quickly once it's back on again. Doors kept shut of course.Then if you want a bigger blast the timer has a main switch to constant on position. So in reality if I came down to breakfast and it's freezing, would blast it at 1250w for 20 mins or so , then switch it to the timer mode without caring where the timer is in it's cycle, then leave it for most of morning. Was usually off from 12.30 to 4.30pm then back on same thing for the 6 hours of evening.
