Jackmans Irish Butcher- Goldhawk Road

Looks like it has closed down... does anyone know what happened or why? I can't believe it... best butcher in the area and affordable!! I cant afford Mackens prices :(

There is also Hammonds near Kew Bridge. Very nice chap, don't know how the prices compare though.

I haven’t been there for ages but Ginger Pig on Askew Road was very good.  Can’t recall how expensive it was.

A Google search indicates that it is permanently closed. No reason given. The landlord of Connelly's might know as I recall their menu used to state that their meat was supplied by Jackmans.

Hammonds is not under the arches. It is at the foot of the residential building on the north west corner of Kew Bridge, same building as Sainsbury's.

I'm neither recommending nor non-recommending the place; but there is 10% discount at Hammonds with the Chiswick Clubcard.

I met the butcher when he was emptying the shop.  He said when he returned from  his holiday he received a huge energy bill and the family sat down and decided to close the shop after 26 years.

Plus the wholesale price has climbed in price so the outcome is not so much a cheap butchers and so your clientel moves to the cheaper supermarkets. I tried Lidl a few times while in westfield. Not great and the chicken on both accsions went off prior to the sell bye date I gave it a try but as far as cheper meat goes,they can keep it for the pigs

Sains took the opportunity of Covid to close their butchers counter and havent re-opened it. Very convenient for them but not for us. Shame, after they'd already forced Quinns and a couple of others in the High Rd to close.

We've been eating meat less and less over the last few years.  It isn't the only protein and we don't really miss it.  That doesn't mean we don't eat it on occasion but I certainly don't miss cooking it.
