Any Facebook experts out there who can assist?

Looking for a FB guru. There is a Dukes Meadows Trust FB page that it seems Facebook set up. Didn’t know they could do that.I want to set up a page that we can manage but can’t as there already is one Googling the problem there are instructions about how you can”claim” your page, but trying to follow it, the menu and buttons it says to press don’t seem to be on the page.Can anyone help?

No, they just take the info from your website, which they link to.Just below where it says Dukes Meadows Trust, it says "unofficial page" if you click on the very small ! next to that, it explains;This unofficial page was created beacause people on FB have shown an interest in this place or business. It isnt adffiliated or endorsed by anyone associated with Dukes Meadows Trust"surprised that FB can do that and link it to your website, put your email etc on it, but it seems it can.

I don’t think FB set it up. Someone on FB could have set it up. You could report an issue to FB. Tomorrow I can contact some colleagues who work for Meta and ask them if they have any suggestions. I’m on a consulting contract with Meta. If I were to report the issue from the FB app they might respond quicker. If you can phrase the specific question you would like answered, I’ll give it a try. BTW, I no longer live in W4. My company moved me back to New Jersey in 2013. I really enjoyed W4.

You have to set up facebook buisness manager which is free then you can claim that facebook page. Business settings, click Pages,Add,Request access. The rest is for you to fill and claim Takes about 5 days average...  I think

Just to say that facebook do set up pages if enough searches are made and one does not exist. If they have a lot of traffic for something they will use the likes of Wikipedia to import data

So if Dukes Meadows Trust don't want a Facebook page foisted on them, can they delete it?

Once yoy have control you can delete it but then in time they possibly would create once again. You can request it be removed but since they created it i doubt they would remove it unless you had good grounds. They only hold basic info

Thanks everyone for the advice. How do you set up business manager? Truied searchin in FB for that but only other pages come up.We do want a FB page, but  I need to delete or get control of the page already set up.I am an FB total novice, so struggling with this.

Nope, canlt work out how to taker over and delete the FB page we didn't set up. FB has let me set up a page in the same name, which is odd, as it means there are now two.The Trust has funds, so can pay for a few hours help, if anyone can assist. Thank you!

You cant take over Kathleen until you have requated ownership. You have to add the facebook page and then request ownership. You will need to provide some information they ask for. Once they have given you ownership you can do what you need to do. Try this "Business Manager"Go to Business Settings.Below Accounts, click Pages.Click the blue Add dropdown button.Select Request Access to a Page.Enter the Facebook Page name or URL.Use the toggles to choose which permissions you need.Click Request Access. From there you can merge it to your one,become admin for it or delete it.

Thank you.There's a menu on the left headed "Professional Tools" Most of the menu is greyed out; Professional Dashboard, Insights etc. but the last item "Meta Business Suite" is live.Cant see anything called "Business Settings"?

Ok KathleenIts been some time since i used this and it has changed.Ive just registered myself to see whats going on.From what ive quickly seen try this.Bottom left is buisness settings next to the bell notificationsClick on that and select pages.Then on the right select add . From that your have 3 optionsADD PAGEREQUEST ACCESS to a PAGECREATE NEW PAGERequesting access is what you need.Now that is how it used to work. Hopefully it does kathleenotherwise i cant help you. They might have changed things like facebook tend to do do.Fingers crossed it works

Thank you Julian and everyone for your help. I think I'm getting there, the old page seems to have changed, so maybe FB is merging it?Looked for buttons suggested, but can't find. Clicked around randomly and in and out of pages. If the new page gets busier maybe the old one wil gradually dissapear.So... anyond who uses FB please search for Dukes Meadows Trust and if the one with a background photo of a meadow and our logo comes up, please give us a follow. :) If the other one with a photo of a tree comes up, please don't follow.
