Lights Southfield Playing Fields

A few weeks ago I posted that the lights on the path by the tennis courts weren't working.   All credit to those who sorted that, a few days later they were back in action.  Now all the lights from the path on the south side of Southfield Road up past the Hatfield Road gate and round past the industrial estate are out.  Why is there no automatic monitoring of failed lights and relies on public to report  failures? Libdems forced us to pay for these lights.   What's the point if they keep failing?

Slightly confused by your post. There clearly is an automatic monitoring of lighting, by the public, and you have demonstrated that the system works. Are you suggesting that this is duplicated by expensive technology that links all lights back to a central monitoring station? That would be daft idea as it would cost millions and deliver precisely no net benefit.

Hi Claire,Thanks for pointing out the lights in Southfield Rec' are currently not working, I will report it to officers.Your comment that 'LibDems forced us to pay for these lights' is a strange remark. The suggestion to have lighting in the park came from residents, it was discussed and agreed at the Southfield Ward Forum and largely funded by the Ward Forum. Ward Forum funds are part of the Council's general budget. A part of the Council's budget does come from your Council Tax. It is a stretch to argue that we 'forced' you to pay for the lights.
