Good wishes to the queen

I think the latest update is worrying "Queen is under medical supervision as doctors are concerned for her health" "family are now travelling to Balmoral" Lets hope someone else may do the decent thing and visit her.

The Queen is a *very* old lady. And being the Queen its only natural that her doctors should be concerned for her health *all of the time*. They're probably all just covering their posteriors if the truth were told.I can see no real reason why her Majesty shouldn't be allowed to reign and fulfil all her duties while sitting up in bed if that's what's required.Never mind having to walk about so as to give photo opportunities to the media.Anyway its given the BBC another excuse to suspend all editorial judgement and engage in endless speculation by "experts" pretending to know what they're talking about based on a twelve word press release.michael adams

I agree Sean. She has done a magnificent job, ever since it was thrust upon her all those years ago. There've not been many like her. Is this the beginning of the end for the monarchy?

Thank goodness Harry is in the country.  I understand he is travelling to see her without Meghan, good call in my opinion

It's quite possibly no coincidence that Harry is in Europe at this time,and I have to agree about him visiting her on his own.

When Her Majesty became Queen in 1952 on the sad death of her father.... she was on holiday in Africa.She quickly returned to London Airport and within an hour she was travelling down Chiswick High Road in the rear seat of a Royal Limousine.I was among a silent crowd outside the old Gunnersbury  Station.We pray for her now.

"Its a shame michael never understood the statement like most others did "Michael has been given similar dignoses about close relatives in the past, which have subsequently proved to be premature; and so that unlike some people he's learned by experience to "never give up on people" until the coffin lid is actually screwed down. Not the occasion to be trying to score points, Michael.  I am not a monarchist but I admired her integrity, humour, sense of duty, work ethic and much else. However I can't say I am looking forward to the reign of Charles 111 and Liz Truss.  I hope I am proved wrong.

Maybe it would have helped if the Royal Family had been more up front about what was going on so we weren't all left to decode their oblique statements. What were her 'ongoing mobility issues' anyway, and were we supposed to know that 'doctors are concerned' really meant that she was at death's door? It's not unreasonable to be surprised that a person who was greeting two Prime Ministers only a few days ago should pass away so quickly and quietly, without becoming 'bed-ridden' or hospitalised, or on life-support, like many others we've known.

Heart attacks, if that's what it was  or embolism don't hang around.  Even people or animals diagnosed with cancer can seem OK until an hour or so before the end. I have sadly experienced all of those. It's much harder for those left behind when the end of a loved one is quick and I am glad for her and for those I have lost in that way that they were still enjoying life and functioning pretty well up to the last. Hope it's the same for me and everyone else I know.

If you look at the photo of The Queen shaking hands with Liz Truss - her hand looks very bruised - sings that she'd had a canula at some point? I do agree though that to be able to function right up to the end is a blessing for all.

I suspect given she was 96 it was heart failure, I too sadly have experienced a mother who even the doctors thought had a few weeks only to die 3 hrs after their visit. It has to be the best way to pass, no pain little suffering and they just go to sleep. A remarkable and outstanding lady, the respect shown from around the world says it all, truly a sad moment. A little birdie told me she died at 3.30 yesterday so most of her immediate family didn’t make it in time, tough for them.
