Pub in the park - rubbish

There are plastic cups, bottles and rubbish all down the road outside Chiswick House,plus the glass in the bus stop by the convent has had the glass smashed to smithereens and there’s glass all over the pavement and road. So dangerous.Can’t the organisers do a clear up.

Also why does the whole of Chiswick have to listen to the awful noise from this festival all weekend - I’m in my garden and can hear it on the North side of Chiswick - I feel for residents closer - the noise must be over acceptable levels - Ealing/Hounslow Council really do not care about the quality of life of Chiswick residents when they have an opportunity to make income out of our beautiful  public spaces!

I went on Saturday afternoon with my family. It was a great event, and well run. Music and atmosphere just felt good natured and gentle to be honest.The litterpickers were working hard throughout the event as far as I could see. Maybe drop them a line and ask them to include the bit immediately outside the gate in future? Or have rubbish collectors at the gate?

I live locally and the noise was not at all intrusive. I've been to a couple of Pub in Parks but can't stand the queues. I totally support Chiswick House on holding this event. I hope it's a good earner for them.I also regularly walk my dog in the park and the rubbish was not bad. It was much worse after the bank holiday weekend with picnic rubbish strewn all over the park.I would like to see Chiswick House plan for Bank Holiday weekends by putting in temporary large bins by exits. It would save them a lot of cleaning up on Tuesday. I accepted the reasons for removing all the bins but they should think it over again.

We went of Saturday night a fantastic event Sophie was amazing as was the DJ. We did notice a lot of people just leaving their rubbish when they left which is appalling we did clear the rubbish left around us. People don’t seem to have any sense of civic duty and just expect someone else to clear up after them. Chiswick house is a magical venue which we are lucky to have on our door step love their gigs long may they continue. Locals should support the house they need to make revenue.

Where does this idea that you don't take responsibility for taking your own waste away come from?Does seeing litterpickers actually compound the idea and increase the problem?  Especially litterpickers who just bag everything up together.  Does this create a lot of left rubbish rather than just the occasional bit of escaped rubbish?  Does this encourage it?  Business waste - especislly mixed - is much more expensive to dispose of.  The last festivals we've been to elsewhere have had some separation of waste and  reusable and deposit returnable plastic glasses.The last event we went to at Chiswick House we were very careful at what we took including torches so that we could retrieve everything to take home.Has it improved?Roll on Deposit Returnable Systems for recyclables!

Why isn't smashproof glass used in bus shelters (eg Hammerglass)? Always seeing them smashed.

At chiswick house there were recycle bins, returnable pint holders to reclaim £1 and £5 reclaim for champagne holders there is absolutely no excuse for people leaving there rubbish. The same happens in our parks when the weather is lovely. It really does come down to inconsiderate people who expect their rubbish to magically disappear. It comes down to civic pride simple.

Litter has always been a problem in the uk. On talking pictures they occasionally show a film called Litter Report 1954. On a public holiday 4 tons of litter approximately were removed from Box Hill. Also then there were not so many tins drinks were in glass bottles so when they were thrown down they smashed. As a consequence of this children cut their feet and it caused a problem for the NHS. How much litter was collected after the Nottinghill carnival? It's in our culture.
