Richard, I don't believe you really think Brussels cares more about preserving the peace in NI than our own Government.Boris promised the electorate he would get Brexit done by 31st January 2020. He did.But To fulfil his promise he offered two olive branches to the EU; he relinquished large parts of our fishing waters to the French to the dismay of our fishermen, and he agreed to the aforesaid NI protocol, believing it could be waived with some sweet talk at a future date. ( I have mentioned in my previous thread that Article 16 of the Agreement does permit one side to break away from the deal should an impasse be reached).These were two compromises offered to the EU, hurt by our departure, to facilitate our exit on time.Richard, we have both given our differing points of view on the NI conundrum, and I hope my views, like yours were offered in a decent, respectful manner.It is worth our while realising that anything involving Norhern Irish politics is never easy.
