Traffic in Chiswick

We all know it's intolerable at the moment for several well documented reasons but the latest funnelling of traffic on the A4 into one lane has made it so much worse. If the work is so necessary where are the people fixing the road? I haven't seen one person. And hoy of joys, it's going o  till December.. It's really going to help the impassable high road. I always wanted to live in a car park

the selfishness attitude of the cyclist as usual. all they seem to do is shout at drivers if they have to apply their brakes.

No freedom pass though Bruce. if people want to get to Macken's or CGF and back home in GP in 20 mins it's going to be very pricey at my hourly rates. Probably worth it though.

Yep. Pedestrians who frequently get shouted at by cyclists are anti-cycling fantasists or confrontational trouble-makers. Both of which you can very easily empathise with as one of the most obsessive fixated anti-cycling people in London.

David, I often don’t read Paul’s posts. He and others often have nothing of any interest to say to anyone but other cycle lobby bullies. It drives some of them to distraction if you refuse to reply, which is highly amusing. Richard you know that’s you😂. Bullies don’t like being ignored I’ve learnt.

Indeed Russell. They are literally losing the plot trying to defend the chaos they’ve caused in Chiswick. Still denying that opening Fishers Lane  would help. Let’s open up every closed road, I think they’d implode

To add to the excitement on Chiswick High Road.. urgent work is additionally being carried out to trim low bearing branches of trees bashing into passing double decker buses!But it's essential work. One recalls an upperdeck passenger losing their life along Millbank many years ago caused by a overhanging branch.Best to stay on the bottom deck if you travel by bus. You can see the the potential problem in places.

I was on a westbound bus at Turnham Green Church at 6pm (in extended stationary mode of course) and watched a blue flashing  Fire Engine making it's way up Sutton Lane North and approaching the High Road.I thought ..blimey if he turns left and joins the totally blocked High Road to Gunnersbury Station and beyond... he won't be able to provide the fire-fighting service the sufferers might be wanting.As it happened...the Fire  Engine charged up Acton Lane...but I thought there were road works up that way.The Emergency Services must be having an aggravated  time at present.
