Contacting Virgin Media

Been trying for a week to contact virgin media to close account. Waiting hours on phone.  Online callback requested, tweets posted. Impossible. Any suggestions. ?

Agreed. It's the only place that complaints and queries stand a chance of getting picked up by a Virgin employee who actually knows what they're doing. However you may not get the same result trying to cancel! Worth a try though.

Ring and say that you need to cancel, that sometimes gets their attention.Virgin and doing some deal with 02 and those with contracts are getting some strange bills.My monthly bill went from around £100 to £152 without mention nor reason. My Son-in-Law had a similar jump and neither of us have a Virgin or 02 Mobile contract.Awful behaviour, awful company. Come contract end I will be jumping ship but where to I dare to ask?

Don't stop making payments without informing them. This could impact your credit rating which people discussing stopping paying energy bills should bear in mind.

I just had to call VM.  Amazingly, I got an answer within 10 minutes and satisfactorily renewed contract at a discount.  I was rather taken aback!

So its maybe best to avoid the option "To cancel prss 2" and choose something else instead. Maybe to upgrade.As all calls are recorded and performance monitored if you say yoiu want to cancel straightaway the operator will most likely refuse. Instead you need to concoct a convincing story about wanting to upgrade asking lots of questions etc with competitor offers you know they can't match before finally ending up  with *I'm sorry about this * I think I'll have to cancel instead Although saying that, that's maybe what loads of people are trying on already. But maybe worth a try nevertheless.michael adams
