I have a good, comfortable wheelchair but one foot plate has broken off and before I can find it a new home I need to get the footplate fixed. The main suppliers and providers are not interested- buy a new one was one response.Anyone got any suggestions as to where or to whom I can go?

What material is it - plastic, steel, aluminium ? If it was steel you could probably find a welder to fix it, but for the other materials a repair would be more tricky.

It was a round plastic inserted into the steel frame. The spigot for the footplate was inserted up the middle and has broken in half and no longer stays up the steel tubing.

Thanks for all your responses. Wheelchair is currently in storage but I will get it out this weekend and get the identification and photograph the broken element.
