ISS

Came over last night and about 5 mins ago directly west to east over the top of us. Very low to the eye and very bright so good if you have some good bins or a telescope Tomorrow same direction west to east. If you not sure its like coming from heathrow towards central london. Like a very very bright star moving accross the sky at a good pace but low to the eye.  Tomorrow same direction west to east.  Tue  Jul  19th  10:18 PM visible time 7 min

Thanks for info. I will be watching. How long is it in view? I will be using 10X binoculars. Also have ever seen any drones (commercial type)?

If you have good view to the west your see it for a good few mins coming towards you and above you. Its as if a helicopter is coming,its a very bright light. And if you have view to the east you will see it for even longer. Im dam sure light polution has got worse in the last 5 years as its not so easy to see satelites as clear as i remember before lockdown. Ive seen satelites while sitting and cooling off of an evening but they just are not as clear  as they once were. They look like a white distant star but they move accross the sky at a good straight pace very high up. If its moving slow to the naked eye then its a plane at high altitude and anything lower will show up as a plane due to its white and red lights being visible

You are right about light pollution Many companies think that moving to LED or other low energy lighting gives them carte blanche to leaving every light on all night.  Love going down to Wales and just sitting at midnight on a clear night looking up at the panoply of stars.

You can get a view from ISS, but there are intermittent periods when the onboard camera is used for mission tasks, (as just now 23.20 BST 19th July) but otherwise a reasonable view, and a separate window gives a location map of the ISS and its passes.You won't be able to spot TGT, in any case the speed over the ground is 17000 mph.https://eol.jsc.nasa.gov/ESRS/HDEV/
