Lost cat near William Hogarth School

HiMy neighbour’s cat has managed to get outside and has disappeared. She’s an indoor cat. She’s a little tabby cat, around 1 year old. No idea how to add photos on here though.If Antone finds a little tabby, please respond on here.ThanksKaren

I've never quite understood the concept of having a 'home cat' as cats are naturally investigative, prowling creatures needing freedom to roam the great outdoors. It's cruel to keep a cat wholly indoors. They do it a lot in the USA ~ they’re an odd lot over there. Cats kept entrapped in confining homes appear to be 'mad cats' or ‘cats with issues'. Anyway, I hope 'Little Tabby' is found and that the owner can be persuaded to let their home cat become more of a 'homing cat' :-)

I do hope the cat is neutered, if not then it's probably disappeared in the hope of findjng a mate.

Not sure about that Bobbie one of my cats had the freedom to go out butprefer to stay inside, was annoying because then you have the litter trayto deal with and he would use it once and wanted it clean and fresh for next time, to much information I suppose 😉

Not difficult to understand, Bobbie.  Cats left to roam often get killed or mutilated by traffic, stolen for resale or as bait to train fighting dogs how to kill, poisoned accidentally or deliberately (lots of things can kill a cat including antifreeze and pollen) and much more including picking up felv and fiv.  I don't advocate letting toddlers or dogs wander freely so why would you a cat?  Thousands of wandering cats are killed every year.

Unfortunately the cat is not neutered. It's my neighbours cat. I'd had neutered and chipped if it were mine, however, the cat  is missing and I'm hoping to help her find it. I had two indoor cats before, and they lived long, healthy happy lives.

It's cruel to keep a cat wholly indoors."RC: Having had a few outdoor cats in my time, all toms, I never understood it either, until we got our present cat. For the first three years he was free to wander outside as he pleased, which he did mostly at night - he was an avid hunter.Then a combination of an injury and a house move meant he had to be kept indoors for about 4 months. Yet since we moved into our new place a couple of years ago, he hasn't shown the slightest interest in going out into the garden, even if a door was left open for a bit and he was nearby.Indeed when neighbouring cats come right up to our glass doors and "interact" with him, purring and trying to touch etc, he's entirely happy where he is on his side of the glass curtain.I wouldn't have believed it, but that's just the way he is - happy and healthy.

Did your neighbour ever find her kitten? We have one sitting in our window boxes on Devonshire Road looks a bit lost. We have given it some dried food and it seems to be hungry. Private message us and my wife will send a picture.Thanks, Rob

Being "pretty sure" is not pretty enough where hitherto denoted 'home cat' is possibly presently enjoying being a proper independent cat.
