I have a number of sets of curtains to dispose of. Most are good quality.Does anyone know a charity shop that currently takes them? I think some have stopped taking them

Acton Recycling take furniture so will surely take curtains. Their shop is in South Ealing Rd, a two-minute walk from the E3 bus stop or you should easily be able to park outside using stop-n-shop.

Susan - have you been recently? Last time I went they weren't taking any furniture at all - presumably because of the sad closure of the Polish charity shop further up the road - and seemed now to be concentrating on clothing. Of course it could have changed again depending on how much stock they have. I wish there was a telno for it.www.trashnothing.com is an online option but isn't such a cut and dried option.So probably worth finding several things to do in the area. I haven't been to the Oxfam shop up at Ealing Broadway since the pandemic to see if they are still there but they may be easier to contact.

Have you checked out Traid? They collect free from us all in the West London Waste area. They mention textiles and clothes but not curtains specifically. They do have telnos snd other contact details. https://www.traid.org.uk/Ealing Repair Cafe are on Facebook and can be contacted through their website. They can be very helpful.

They are being collected by icollectclothes.co.uk. They collect on behalf of various charities. Mine are going to Heart UK

I struggled to find anywhere to take mine, but was recommended to try Fara on Turnham Green Terrace who did want them. That was about 5 years ago but no reason to think their policy has changed.

You can make cushion covers out of old curtains, for use in the garden orconservatory, one way of recycling them.

Didn't they have a textiles bank at the "dump"? ( I presume you meant one of the Household Reuse & Recyclinh Centres.)
