As somebody who recently got a mild bout of Covid for the very first time, despite being fully vaccinated, I’m rather surprised about some of the misconceptions I have encountered. One lady told me she couldn’t get Covid because she had been vaccinated. She had also never taken a single test. So many people assumed I must be very seriously ill, I was temporarily out of circulation for a pretty short time. That’s actually the norm. I was very pleased to have finally got through it. Covid is everywhere but it’s generally mild at present. Most people who get and pass it on will have been vaccinated. Vaccination mainly protects against the likelihood of serious illness. Suggest that if you need a handyman and feel worried, you both agree to wear masks, stay socially distanced and keep the windows open. You can certainly ask if he has had either been vaccinated or had Covid but it’s not likely to make much difference. Or if very concerned you could ask him to take a lateral flow test. I’m not sure it’s helpful talking about “selfish” and “reckless” people at this point. Most people have taken a different interpretation of risk which they are entitled to do and you are entitled to disagree with them without judging them,Apologies for may seem to most to be stating the obvious.
