Ipad help

Any idea how to delete an account from my 'old' Apple ipad

It's my mail account Julian I have the I'd and password, it said toGo into iOS but no luck so far.

Janice,On the iPad, go to Settings (the cogwheel icon) and scroll down to Passwords & Accounts, which will show you any accounts you have. Just click on the particular account and you can click off a (green) toggle switch to shut the account. If you are using Mail with an iCloud account, there may be lots of toggle switches - covering Mail, contact, photos, etc.If you want to clear your Mail because you are passing on the iPad, you can also do a Reset (in the General part of Settings), where there are several options to select from. Hope this helps.

D Fox, thank you, I have tried settings and Passwords and Accounts is not there, it's an old iPad so would Passwords and Accounts have been in another area, it is with iCloud,  will keep trying until I have time to visit Apple Store.

Janice,The advice I gave should be suitable for anyone on iOS version 12 (which should be most older (but not the oldest) iPads.Passwords & Accounts is about the sixth block down (at the top of the block) on the sidebar (on the left) of the settings section. However, that section was added in iOS 11 - so if you are iOS 10 or earlier, I believe you have to go to the Mail section in Settings and click on Accounts and then the particular account, which should get you where you want.Hope this helps.David

luck at last thank you David, problem was all the instructions were for newer models and I'm not very good with these things.
