Gunnersbury Park Parking

Brilliant. Two machines in the car park and both are out of order. My phone wont support the Y-Pay App even though it did for a couple of weeks. Why on earth didnt they choose Ringo or Pay by Phone.

They didn't want to pay the fees charged by Hounslow Council, Ringo or Pay by phone.  And beware, just because Gemini's machines don't work, their ANPR camera does.  Do not be surprised if you get a £100 fine two weeks later! If you do, take it to the Museum and ask for Phil Humphrey, Duty Manager. He might be able to rescind it for you.

Thanks John, I think exited inside 'drop off and pick up' time. It's the third time Ive had to abort a visit. Twice before, the machine rejected my perfectly valid card.

I had a terrible time last Sunday. One machine of the two not working . Found the second one near the exit . Card only so thought OK . Nightmare ensued . Machine refused 4 times to acceopt tap. Queue forming behind me now.  Folk suggested insert my card. Did so and the machine swallowed it. Kind person tried with his phone but got rejected . Tried to get a ticket for his car rejected. Another person kindly used their card  and got me a parking ticket. Phoned the number on the Board . Closed til Monday. Phoned Monday but no options for not returning your visa card. No cash at home so stuck until I got to my Bank on Wednesday. No luck there after waiting nearly two hours to see customer service as the till closed at 2 pm. Had to go next day and go through the same perfprmance to get some cash. New Visa Card took 5 days to arrive. Now have to inform Pay pal et al . have a new card.  That is provong difficult as I do not have a mobile phone needed to verify who I am . THANK YOU GUNNERSBURY PARK  FOR A NIGHTMARE WEEK

When the machines display "out of order" always take pictures of them.In Lewes I received a parking penalty notice but because I had photos of the two machines showing "out of order" they had to withdraw it.I bet a pound to a penny that would not have been the outcome without the photos.

I have received a fine through the post, despite having paid for a ticket at the machine. Whilst I can show the transaction on my bank statement, I don't (quite understandably) have the ticket I displayed. Apart from engaging with Gemini's appeals process, does anyone have any useful or practical advice ?Thanks !

Simon, go see Phil Humphrey at the Museum.  As Duty Manager, it is his responsibility to oversee the problems Gemini are creating.  I wouldn't bother with Gemini's phone line unless you enjoy spending 77p per minute going round in circles. Gunnersbury have unofficially indicated that they might rid themselves of Gemini if there were enough complaints!

Thank-you John for the helpful advice - I just spoke to Gunnersbury and they have asked me to email the details and they will follow up with Gemini.Still waiting for offers for bike training for dogs...

Sadly Simon, the unhelpful comment came from an individual branded the 'cyclopath' on the Ealing Today forum such is his dislike of motor vehicles, save for the one that, by his own admission, he drives!

Good luck with the appeal.Parked there today for the first time. Although not mentioned on the parking machine (only on some signs) I used the " Y-Pay" app. Seemed to be easy/quick enough, but judging on your experience, wouldn't be surprised to still get a ticket!

"77p per minute going round in circles"Is it just me, or is this a revenue stream of another sort? So they potentially get you twice. Once for the "contravention" and once for trying to challenge it. At which point you lose the will to live and just pay up. By design, in my opinion.

John, I have not had to use the car park but is this operated by "Gemini Parking Solutions" and is the number you are calling 0871 200 2143 or 0845 678 9620?If so and, others please note, that there is a geographical bypass number (all 0871 numbers have them) which you can call at local rate (often free from mobiles).This is, for Gemini, 020 8418 0948 you then get a simple four option menu.

Well, it all turned out well. I spoke to a lady at Gunnersbury Park yesterday afternoon, emailed in my evidence this morning, got advised at lunchtime that Gunnersbury were talking to Gemini but to also submit a formal appeal online - and lo and behold with an hour the thing had been cancelled !Still managed to waste about 45 mins of my time though because of Gemini's incompetence. I wonder how many people just pay up because life is too short...

In June 2021 The Friends of Gunnersbury Park and Museum published on their web site a response to the second planning application for the installation of parking equipment. We had done a trawl through Companies House records to find out what we could about the company. The paragraph we published then might not be the case now and if so we are happy to correct it. "Gemini Parking Solutions Europe and Gemini Parking Solutions London are both owned by Ryan Jackson, who also owns JKO Property investments Ltd, Ibiza Properties Ltd and Magic Rubbish Clearance Ltd and lives in Bali. These companies are financially interlinked, by virtue of common control, and operate out of the same address in Loughton. An earlier company, Gemini Parking Solutions Ltd, was liquidated in 2015 with debts of £76,000. Another company, Y Payment, a parking app, was registered in 2020.
