Dodgy Roofer

I used a roofer from Gunnersbury Roofing recently. He came to view the damage and gave me a rather steep price to clear some gutters and cut away a channel. I was so worried that I would have another leak as rain was on it's way so I used him. I paid him in full. I asked for a receipt and he said an invoice was enough. After pestering him he promised on several occasions to send me a receipt but still nothing. If you meet a roofer called James in his early fifties and he has a dodgy Metro bank account - don't use him. He also goes under 'Your Local Roofing Company.' Very disappointing indeed.

Some business owners aren't great at admin. You can prove the money went from your account to his so that is enough.  If he did the job you needed, I don't see any real need to complain on a public forum about a local business that maybe isn't great at admin detail if your roof is now sound.

It was in reference to someone pointing out about a Metro account being used. What has that got to do with anything?

Was the work that he did up to standard? Did he do what he said he would do?
