"Title and Gender Do Not Match"

Story in The Telegraph about a female American doctor trying to make bookings on BA.It's 2022 how could this happen?

The booking details need to be identical to the passport entrys.If they don't match it is entirely reasonable for any airline to question the discrepancy.

"The booking details need to be identical to the passport entrys"My passport does not have any title details, just surname and given name.I have never had any problem booking anything as Dr and female!

On mine and I suspect everyone else, printed is;"Sex/Sexe (5)"Below which is "M"

"Your title will be on the 'observations' page of your passport"  ???At the end of the day if any info is not correct most airlines will not let you fly for the idea your be refused entry possibly and sent back.USA are very strict

Should we just abandon titles?  What help is it in identifying people if they are Dr, Prof, Ms or anything?  Do children's passports have them?
