Chiswick Terrace Plans

From the article and images posted in W4 headline article there seems little likelihood of parking being part of the development plans - am I right or simply misunderstanding the proposals? While I am not a car driver the simple concern is the evidence from recent Bollo Lane area and nearby South Acton new flat property developments is that this will simply lead to more over parking and crowded roads being slower.If that is the intended plan or objective under its approval, then disclosure as part of the planning application might be helpful for people to better understand the wider implications?

As always, build inflation.  The current his street level plus 2 storeys.  The proposed has an extra 2 storeys on top.  Coincidence, the  Chiswick Empire development under the current developer has begun with the corner site opposite the Sainsbury west entrance, and is taller than the newer building across the road.  That used to be a timber yard.I see that the ‘town’ houses  between the old Empire House and the Sainsbury delivery yard are going ahead.  Is the forecast some 10 years ago that it won’t be long before multi storey blocks will be built alongside Chiswick Park Station.

As I read it there is no increase overall in the number of flats in this unit compared to what is already there. I'd be surprised if many of the residents, current or future own a car.

‘Transport is far from good’ I’m sorry but Seriously Janet?There’s a district line underground station just a few hundred yards away, E3, 272, 237, 267 and probably some other buses as well stop nearby?Plenty of places around Chiswick that don’t have anything like this public transport provision on their doorstep.

This one seems like a win to me. This is a very shabby block and, if the designs shown in the article are accurate, the new building will be a huge improvement. Opening up the frontage on Essex Place will make a huge difference as well and hopefully this chimes with what is happening with the other developments nearby.It is a real shame about the businesses who have been impacted but I can't believe anybody will have been totally taken by surprise that this building is being redeveloped. I hope they manage to get alternative premises in Chiswick.
