Covid cases rising

I know a few people who have covid at the moment. Quite badly too. Seems to me cases creeping up now boosters wearing off.  Anyone else notice this.

Yes, four people I know have caught it in the last four days - but symptoms seem to be mild so far.

Yes we are at the beginning of another wave. At my workplace we have the highest number of staff off sick with covid since the start of the pandemic over two years ago. There were 3500 hospital admissions in the first week of June and it’s rising.

To add to Alastair’s comment whilst some cases I know have indeed been mild others have been really quite ill, mostly I think those who haven’t previously contracted covid

Well we know the vaccines don't work, apart from killing and disabling people, if that counts as working.

...but keep getting injected, anyway, lock yourselves up between visits to the Vaccine Centre and wear a face nappy when marching up and down the supermarket 1.5m apart. This scientific approach, which has brought Knighthoods for Whitty, Valance and Van-Tam is clearly a winning societal formula.

We were just hearing this morning how you can definitely get it more than once - so you can ignore the protestations of those careless and arrogant people insisting they can't give it to you because they've already had it -  and keep your distance!

Why aren't the over 65's being offered a booster like in some other countries? Also I notice the WHO says europe is the epicentre for monkeypox. The EU has ordered 110000 doses of vaccine but not much is said here about it here. What's going on.

'Why aren't the over 65's being offered a booster like in some other countries?'There was an item about this on the World at One yesterday. The current plan is to give us our boosters in the autumn to get us through the winter. Doing them too early would be counter-productive.
