My wife's iPhone developed a fault. When she attempted to take a photo the image would disappear within a second, before she even had chance to frame it and press the button.  This continued for weeks and since she is a keen photographer she was forced to buy a newer version of her iPhone SE.  Now that oneis behaving in exactly the same way, which makes me think it must be the simcard at fault.  But how do you swap a simcard and retain the same number, contacts etc. and where can you buy a blank simcard?

I can't see how the sim card would affect the phone's ability to take photographs - it would do so even without one inserted. I've never come across the strange symptom you describe, and you might get some joy by exploring the Apple discussion boards. Alternatively (although the term offends me) you could book a session with a "genius" at the Apple Store, there's one in Westfield.

It's always worth trying a forced restart which I believe for the SE is: press and release the volume up button, press and release the volume down button, press and hold the side button until the Apple logo appears.Also maybe check the phone's storage isn't full: Settings - General - iPhone Storage and check there is still space for more photos.There is an Apple Support app you can download from the App Store and then enter the problem in the "tell us what's happening" field.

To Fix black screen in the Camera app:Close and restart the Camera app.Switch between the front and rear cameras.Make sure VoiceOver is turned off.Reboot the phone.Update to the latest software.Try a reset.Contact Apple Support.

Try what Andrew says. Changing a SIM will make no difference whatsoever.

I got my iPhone from EE.  If I have a tech problem I pop in there and they invariably sort it out in seconds.
