No garden waste collection shown online either for tomorrow or a fortnight's time on the LBH page for my road. Have emailed contact address at LBH but reply could take up to 10 days. Have looked at the Bank Holiday page but no mention of a change to garden waste. Have I missed anything that I should know about?

Ours went today - all collections a day late because of the Bank Holiday - something that always manages to cause so many so much difficulty around here, in spite of the fact it happens every Bank Holiday!

In LBE they seem to work through most Bank Holidays but it still causes stress just in case they're not. What would we do if we had more Bank Holidays like most other countries? Be less stressed? Or more stressed?

When there is a Bank Holiday on a Monday, then everything happening a day late can be factored in. When it is two days on a Thursday and Friday it is harder to fathom out what LBH might do the following week.

Nothing to do with the bank holiday in my case - but I have worked out what went wrong with my internet inquiry. I accidentally input my next door neighbour's address when I chose the address from the drop down menu. Clearly they don't subscribe to the garden waste scheme. When I input my own address, hey presto, the garden waste stuff appeared. Who would have thought the system so sophisticated? but congratulations to LBH for distinguishing between different addresses on their generic "what-gets-collected-when" pages.

No stress here in Ealing, as in our case they collect bins every Monday morning irrespective of Bank Holidays, except possibly around Xmas.

We think we've got the hang of it in Ealing because we're getting used to it working but sod's law means that it may not last - and it is no help to those who have newly moved in. I think we still have that ridiculously simple and clunky calendar which can't cope with any differences or the holidays. So we have to search for special announcements. I think we are all having to reregister for the garden waste collection. Several friends share this. With three reusable bags it is easy to do this. Otherwise I'll only use it about twice a year.
