Brompton bike stolen grange road

HelloMy navy Brompton was stolen about 7.15 pmat the back of Gunnersbury station on grange road. If anyone spots it. Futile I realise they cut a good lock and left dozens of other bikes. Oh well

I assume this is a good reason to introduce number plates. No number plates or false plates indicate an offence.  If not for the sake of others perhaps cyclists will push for number plates for their own sake. Bike theft is a huge problem. At least it will be one more hurdle.for thieves

Number plates don't help all those Range Rovers etc which are stolen and disappear so quickly off the streets and which the police don't find.  I think there are more trackers being used on both bikes and cars.Social media is helpful plus registering your bike with Bike Register.  Having a photo ready to tweet and post online and all the registration details, frame number etc.  Also being a member of a cycling group should help with the heads up in finding it and making it more difficult to sell on.

N Kelly: What manner or make of "good lock" did they manage to cut? Just asking so as to ascertain a more secure lock for my bike. Thanks

It's not the only one but they claim the police use it to check for stolen bikes and there are some bike security marking sessions listed on it.
