Election report - Osterley and Spring Grove
Re Local Election Report on this Website stated:"The Conservatives failed to make much of a dent in Osterley and Spring Grove ward despite having high hopes at the start of the campaign. Veteran councillor Tony Louki topped the poll, perhaps benefitting from his outspoken opposition to the Tesco/Homebase development proposals."As an active Green Party member myself, I don't think Tony Louki's success was just down to his opposition to the Tesco development. Tony Louki has topped the poll in this ward in previous elections. In fact, Tony Louki is a great example of what a good local Councillor should be. Over many, many years Tony Louki has ably championed his local community and openly (and usually successfully) campaigned even when it entailed pointing out the errors of his own party leadership - e.g. the saving of Brent Lea Recreation Ground by Syon Park, London Road, Brentford, from development. My only regret is that he is not a member of The Green Party!
