Electric Vehicle Charging Point - installation at a private house

EveningHas anyone had an electric vehicle charging point installed at their home? 
We are at the (very) early stages of getting one installed, but struggling with figuring out the best sequence of events. We also have a construction project going on — potentially it is muddying the waters for us a little. 
If anyone has experience of EVCP installation at their home, and could offer any suggestions that would be very helpful. 
Property is in London Borough of Ealing if it makes any difference.Thanks in advance!

If you use a public charging point how much does it cost to charge a small electric car?

Depends how big (kw) the car battery is and how fast a charger you're using.
eg for BP it's 40p per kw, but for ultrafast it's 55p per kw.

Hello Angela, we had one installed a year ago. You may already know this now, but one thing to check sooner rather than later is whether the company fuse for the electricity supply to your property has a high enough rating to carry the load of an EV charger along with everything else. Ours was 30+ years old and only 60 Amps rated so we had to get it upgraded to 100 Amps. It can take a while to get this done and requires some coordination of your DNO (the physical network operator for your locality), your electricity supplier, and your own electrician and/or charger installer.  You're welcome to message me if this may apply to you and you need more details.
