If he has evidence of money changing hands then why has he not mentioned the Cllrs involved or reported it himself over telling those who have passed money over to report it to the police.

COUNCIL ELECTION BOMBSHELL VIDEO: “CORRUPT COUNCILLORS HAVE BEEN TAKING BRIBES FOR PLANNING.” With only 12 hours to go before polling stations open, Cllr Theo Dennison made extremely serious corruption allegations against some Hounslow councillors today, Wednesday. He was out campaigning in Syon and Brentford Lock ward with support from Cllr Devina Ram who, like him, recently resigned from the Labour Party. With only 12 hours to go before polling stations open, Cllr Theo Dennison made extremely serious corruption allegations against some Hounslow councillors today, Wednesday. He was out campaigning in Syon and Brentford Lock ward with support from Cllr Devina Ram who, like him, recently resigned from the Labour Party. Cllr Dennison is standing as an Independent in the elections tomorrow (Thursday 5th May) on a "Clean Up Hounslow Council" platform. He said (scroll for video): "I've been embarrassed by what I have learned. I thought I had plumbed the depths of where the Labour Party in Hounslow had got to but people have been reporting about how they have been milking the planning system, so that residents approach a councillor for advice and then are asked to 'assist' them so they can assist them with their planning application."This is milking residents who are desperately keen to get a plan through and think they have to cross the palm of councillors in order to get that done. Money has been passed. I've heard several, people who say I thought that's what you had to do. It is breaking the law and, worse than that, individual councillors do not have that power over whether you're going to get your planning application or not. Councillors are playing on the weaknesses, the frailties of some residents who think that's the way things are done in Hounslow."Brentford TV: "Have you told them to go to the police?""I have. And they're being ripped off. This is very, very serious. If any councillor elected tomorrow is going to be doing that, I will be on their case. I will be naming and shaming those councillors."

This makes zero sense. Why wait until after the election to name people who he thinks are responsible for wrong-doing.All I know about this man is that having been a loyal associate of Steve Curran for years he launched a vicious attack on him directly after he announced he was standing down due to ill-health. That has to be the act of a bitter and disappointed man who has lost his sense of perspective.

Not sure when he gave all formation about Steve Curran. Thought it was either just before the resignation, or he had definitely compiled it before. I think what’s totally the important point is whether what he said was true. As a close associate he was in a position to know .Let’s wait I assume it’s all being investigated

The council meeting in which he made his outburst is on YouTube and was covered on this site. Have a look and you will see that it came just as Steve Curran announced he was standing down.Correct me if I am wrong, but this is a man who worked closely with Steve Curran for at least 8 years serving in his cabinets and then suddenly decides he was a bad leader shortly after not getting the ward nomination he wanted.

Turn everything on its his head. Put up with it for all for all those years. Loyalty or just too difficult to stand up to someone with lots of equally iffy cronies. Someone with fingers in many lucrative pies. Steve Curran was walking away, everyone shaking his hand. Telling him he’s wonderful. It’s a huge risk if what he’s alleging isn’t  true.  Fascinating stuff

Other things to do other places to go.Trying to close down the conversation again Steve?I'm sure that there could be a better planning system.  It can be very difficult to negotiate and expensive and although Councils are supposed to decide applications within a certain amount of time that often doesn't happen.  Of vourse it is not helped when councils have had to cut staff because of the reduction of funding from Central Govt.  Robert Jenrick was Housing Minister and Richard Desmond is a Property Developer.  They were at at a Conservative party fundraising dinner. £45 million Community Infrastructure Levy (CIL) was involved.  You can Google to find out more.The problems are everywhere and everyone working in this area has to be remain vigilant.Here's a story from another Council from a few years back:https://amp.theguardian.com/uk-news/2018/sep/13/home-builders-lobbyist-pushed-council-leader-to-sort-and-speed-planning

Philippa, when I make comparisons like you did I get accused of whataboutery. Silly Steve doesn't do conversations - he just likes to make silly comments in the hope of getting a rise out of other posters. He is best ignored.

There are probably similar suggestions made about every other council in the country because many people judge councillors by their own standards so assume they must be on the take.No names have been shared in this 'election bombshell' and former councillor Dennison knows that you can't libel an institution. We'll probably never know whether this was the last desperate gambit of a man who had made a terrible miscalculation in his political career or a genuine attempt to shake the tree for more evidence to emerge on a scandal. If he drops the issue now the election is over, the former seems more likely.
