Valid point , but let’s not assume either that ALL young and physically fit people consider the bus island acceptable. Or mothers with young children and buggy’s, another category that need to be considered. Whereas I think it’s reasonably safe to say that getting off the bus directly on to the pavement is likely to be preferable and generally safer. Additionally quite a few cyclists don’t like the cycle lane . So were we, generally speaking better off, or at least equally content, before millions were spent on the cycle lane ?
