So if it's no big deal that Johnson was present at parties in Number 10 during lockdown, why did he think it necessary to lie through his teeth about it on numerous occasions? Do you think it's of no importance that the Prime Minister is utterly dishonest?

Well, presumably as Johnson had to have an advisor explain to tell him what the difference was between a gathering which included cheese and wine and an actual party. He'll now need another advisor to explain what a lie is????

He wasn't 'dealing with' Ukraine  when he was partying and the Queen sat alone in the Chapel. In fact he wasn't dealing with anything except having a good time while the country suffered. He still is totally ineffectual in Europe.  Always will be. He did OK as Mayor but any clown can blag it in that job. Look at the current incumbent!

Just in case it passed you by he was dealing with a pandemic, nearly died, had a baby so plenty on his plate. I think people forget that going through the pandemic key people would be working 24/7 to get on top of things. Previous PM’s have said they enjoyed little sleep during their premiership and they didn’t have to deal with a pandemic and now war on our doorstep. Who would go into politics 🤔🤔🤔🤔🥺

Excuses, excuses. None of those things can ever, ever make up for his mendacity, yes 'key people' were working, the medical staff - the supermarket staff, the emergency services, the volunteers in food banks, people in vaccination hubs and on and on. All for a lot less money and in some cases nothing, and all without having a rave up against the rules. Ukraine is serious and appalling, but like the creep he is, it's just another excuse for Johnson and his acolytes to bat away the lies and fiddling that have come to light, and hope we swallow it - well, a lot of us don't. What they have done is unforgiveable.

It is well established that PM's do not lie to the house of commons. When blatant lies to the house are shown to have happened then the PM steps down. If this PM has received a fine then he was 100% in breaking the law and 100% lying to the house.It is pitiful that you do not think this is of any importance.

That’s your issue you forget sadly the majority of the population voted Brexit. It didn’t see a genius to work out it was going to be hard. Tony Blair lied about weapons of mass destruction now that had massive consequences.

There are still some honourable Tories out there.See the resignation letter of David Wolfson QC Baron Wolfson of Tredegar, who resigned today as a minister. As he says - the "rule of law" means something. It is the very foundation of a society.  Without it, we have nothing.And the constitutional convention that Ministers do not lie to Parliament is fundamental to the functioning of our democracy.  (I see that Johnson is still enthusiastic with the convention that members of Parliament do not accuse each other of lying- so his support for our democratic principles is very selective).I am astonished at the Johnson apologists still out there (but no doubt we will be told that our concerns are because we are envious of his hair, or some other such nonsense).

If Johnson is so insistent that he did nothing wrong why then did he pay the PCN? If he thought he was being penalised wrongly he could have refused to pay and gone to court to argue his case.More apologists on the news tonight - 'only people who didn't vote for him are saying this -  I did and I wanted Brexit'. What relevance that has to lying and deliberately misleading Parliament I do not know, and these morons are allowed to vote!

I am seeing a theme here:- Johnson lying about the benefits of Brexit:- Johnson lying about whether there were parties; whether he knew about them; whether he was at them; whether he knew they were parties:- apologists for his lies about Brexit, having to double down on their own confirmation bias. - apologists for his lies about parties, again having to double down on their confirmation bias whether he is in any way a suitable person to be PM.And using the terrible war in Ukraine as his alibi for not resigning is all the more disgraceful, when we need leadership that respects integrity, democracy and the rule of law when standing up to tyranny. Unfortunately, Johnson appears to have learnt everything he knows.about running a national economy from his Oligarch funders.
