A thoughtful post, Felcity, at least with regard to the position of ordinary Russian congregants here in London.But the Petition wasn't calling upon congregants to "stick their head above the parapet", rather it called upon the local Bishop to speak out - it's called leadership, after all.And if Bishop Irenei should need some guidance as to how he might proceed, he only has to look to the example set by his counterparts in Amsterdam and beyond, as set out in the RNS link in Bernard Allen's post.As the saying goes: “The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing.”
