Name changing

What is it with this childish name changing of our politicians - Bliar, Starker, Karmer etc.? Why don't people grow up? Meanwhile, just who plays Butthead opposite Beavis?

It is immature so just ignore any deliberate change of name they are the ones with the problem.

My guess is "Starker" was a mere typo, which was perpetuated because it arose in a thread title.

I find the idea that it is childish being a complete waste of time by the op. People shorten and change friends' names so why not someone in public office with some humour or relevance to what they have done or perceived to have done. If you thought name changing was bad,don't turn on the TV for some well-known tv progs

I'm sorry, but this whole thread is silly.For unless Ms. England has evidence to the contrary, we must surely assume that the original Starker/Starmer title was just a typo. After all, in the body of his post, the OP Mr. Southey got Starmer's name right, while the "k" is very close to the "m" on most keyboards.

Obviously I didn't express myself quite right - well, it was 4.41a.m. In my last sentence I referred to Boris as Beavis - maybe that wasn't clear. Meanwhile I'm still pondering who plays Butthead to Boris's Beavis.

I wasn't having a dig! The name changing bit was my attempt at humour (at a very early hour) re Beavis (Boris) and Butthead (?) thus contradicting what I'd first said.Never mind, it struck me as funny at 4.41a.m.
