The thing is, Jonathan, that Cllr Khan never thought that traffic measures in Chiswick would ever impact him - he did it in his own interest to placate Council Leader Steve Curran and keep his job in the Hounslow cabinet. Since being deselected, and now standing in Chiswick Gunnersbury, he is answerable to the congestion he has created on Chiswick High Road and the rat running on Wellesley caused by the Acton Lane "bus gate" that he introduced - all in the ward where he is now standing. You mention traffic modelling; well TfL did just that and said in advance it would massively increase congestion on the western section of Chiswick High Road as it has. But Khan approved it nonetheless as it was all in his own self interest - he didn't care about Chiswick then and he doesn't now - however much he says he is "listening", he ignored the massive objections of local residents.And Curran's friend Michael Robinson doesn't care about the traffic because the west side of Wellesley and Stile Hall Gardens, where he lives, now has less traffic. "Red Robbo" is also acting in his own self interest.And Robbo's best friend Paul Campbell doesn't care as much about climate change (caused he claims by Chiswick residents driving their cars when they need to) as he purports, judging by him seemingly flying his family out to Geneva for a short skiing trip. I wonder if they took the helicopter up to Coucheval as the Russians do? He's alright too, Jack, it seems. Not the cheapest resort, Courcheval.The best thing to be done is to kick these champagne socialists (and their patsy Khan) out of office in the forthcoming election.
