Apple TV question

I’ve recently subscribed to Apple TV+ and have got it running on my iPad and (Panasonic) TV.   But pay-to-view films seem to be only available on the iPad, not on the TV.  Is this just the way Apple designed it or is there some kind of fix that I can apply to enable me to also watch films on my TV?  Thanks in advance for any advice.

Have you asked Apple?My sister has an IPhone  and IPad and every time she has a oribkem she calls them and finds them amazingly helpful

However, you can sign in with your Apple ID to watch items you’ve already purchased, rented, or subscribed to on other devices."https://support.apple.com/en-gb/guide/tvapp/atvb438d254c/1.0/web/1.0AFAIK this is because some non-Apple devices don't support the security Apple require to support financial transactions, such as renting a movie.As it says, if you rent or buy a movie on the iPad, you should be able to view it on the TV app, assuming you are logged on using the same user ID on both.

Thank you Maggie and Michael.  Well, I paid for the rental via my iPad and tried everything to get it to appear via my TV app but no luck.So I called the Apple helpline and the first person I spoke to hadn’t a clue.  He looked through the manual and said that it ‘should’ be available on other devices but he didn’t know how to fix it.  So, having seen that the same movie is now available to rent on the ever dependable Amazon Prime TV I asked for a refund.  So after nearly half an hour of frustrating phone stuff I have got a refund application in.  I need an app saying Grrrrr!

So sorry you’re experience wasn’t better. As I said,  my sister has great experiences and rings them at the drop of a hat,  about everything.  I sincerely hope the refund comes through ok

Thanks Maggie.  I meant to say ‘emoji’, not ‘app’ in the last sentence of my last posting - a sign of my frustration I suppose.  I’ll get back about the refund.  Apparently it takes 48 hours to process.

I’m tempted to say I’d have asked to speak to someone  else at Apple. It seems you didn’t get a very experienced person, when you enquired. I don’t actually know anyone with Apply TV

Dont have it myself but the obvious thought would be to remove the app from your TV and then download the latest app in the store and sign in
