Do we have any update on re-instating the 533 bus stopping at Hogarth roundabout?

Dear Susan,With Nick Rogers our GLA Member we recently met with Seb Dance the Deputy mayor of London with his advisors.We made a researched case for the 533 bus to stop in W4. We had a petition with 400 plus signatures, a letter of support from Laura Ellener Head of Chiswick school,emails from local residents and staff from Chiswick house and Gardens and residents from City Gate.Seb promised an early reply. No sign yet I'm afraid.Nick has sent a chaser email earlier this week. I'll post when we hear.BestJohn

There is cause for concern about the future of the bus service in London so I don't hold out much hope for the 533. The Mayor is committed to orders for zero-emission vehicles but the government isn't going to fully fund them. The only way to balance to budget may be to take some of the older buses out of the fleet by cutting schedules and services which means any extra provision is unlikely.

MarkThe 533 bus continues to run thru. Chiswick but Tfl refuse to let it stop.Initially it was well used. Since Hammersmith Bridge opened for pedestrians and cyclists the number of passengers reduced.The current empty seats would  be quickly filled  by those keen to use the service.

I really hope so.  This bus is vital.  We have lousy bus coverage in this area of Chiswick as it is.  It’s madness to watch an empty bus sail by when there are loads of Chiswick commuters who would really love to able to board the bus. TFL  should be providing transport service for all the public not just the select few who happen to live over the other  side of Chiswick Bridge.

TFL need to improve the speed of their buses if they want to get people out of cars.So the fast service on the 533 to Hammersmith was ideal
