...and even some branches that do stay open, like our local HSBC, have become 'digital' branches that do, er, very little, like not having any cash, for example. The staff there seem to spend most of their time explaining to people that they can't do what they're asking, and that they should do it online. Which might explain why bank customers are increasingly going online because the alternative is being withdrawn.
