I definitely concur. Its usually a single car for each player, their parent and three football pitches minimum; perhaps an extra 50 plus cars. God forbid if there's a film unit in situ as well!When Gunnersbury Park put in for Lottery Heritage funding, I thought the submitted plans for the car park was based on the increased footfall due to all the sports and other facilities the park was going to be offering. When GP earmarked the area for the car park on the original plans, I read somewhere that an extra 250 much needed spaces would be coming to the park, even a couple of coach spaces had been designated to fit within the area. The contractor who laid the first new area approx 90 cars said that funding for the remaining area was not in place; money being redirected by CIC for other projects? Then, the area was hard cored instead of tarmacked to accommodate the hordes of film unit facility companies who must be paying CIC handsomely for the daily use. Clearly, the park management are not very community minded in this regard, favouring off site companies to park within the grounds for large fees, leaving the so-called local community to fend for themselves trying to use the very facility that Gunnersbury Park built for us to use and enjoy!Why the management of the park just can't open the second unfinished car park to the rest of us is beyond my comprehension.
