Oil tank anti theft devices

In trying to buy such a lock, the information says it’s for a ‘male’ thread system and if it’s a’female’ system a separate adaptor is needed.For those who think they are funny, please resist the temptation, this could be a serious and very expensive problem.Can someone with the needed technical knowledge help me with this.  Before you eco warriors get going, it had been my intention last year to change the system but being a listed property, the need for planning permission and so on means, not just yet.
